The General Fund is a flexible resource designed to support projects in greatest need and ensure the growth and sustainability of Fundación Nahuel. Donations to this fund are allocated at the discretion of the foundation’s board to maximize impact across diverse initiatives, including education, health, and infrastructure development.
This fund is also critical for new project development, allowing us to invest in construction, repairs, and equipment for educational and health facilities in underserved communities. By supporting the General Fund, donors contribute to the overall success and longevity of Fundación Nahuel’s mission to improve the lives of children, youth, and their families in Ecuador.

Background Information
Since its inception, Fundación Nahuel has focused on long-term community development in vulnerable areas across Ecuador. The General Fund plays a pivotal role in enabling the foundation to expand its reach and adapt to evolving needs. Over the past 14 years, the foundation has worked in:
- 13 indigenous communities in the Andean páramo.
- 7 indigenous communities in the Ecuadorian rainforest.
- 17 poor rural communities in the northwest of Quito.
- 11 urban-marginal neighborhoods in Quito.
Key efforts supported by the General Fund include:
- Complete any additional needs of the current Health and education funds: In case of additional support or specific indirect projects associated with existing projects.
- Infrastructure Projects: Construction, adaptation, and repair of essential facilities to ensure the health and safety of children and youth (e.g., safe water, sanitation, and electrical systems).
Equipment and Materials: Providing schools and childcare centers with the resources needed to support education and child development, especially in rural and marginal urban areas.
